It is commonly understood that you must be under 65 years of age to be eligible for NDIS. However, if your NDIS care package started before turning 65 years of age, then you can continue to receive care under the NDIS.  

To be eligible you must also be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa, and have a permanent and significant disability that affects your ability to take part in everyday activities. 

You can apply by calling the NDIS, visiting an NDIS office, or filling out an Access Request Form online. You will need to provide information about your disability and how it impacts your life. 

The NDIS provides funding for a range of support and services, including personal care, transport, therapeutic support, employment services, and assistive technology. 

Funding is determined based on an individual assessment of your needs and goals. The NDIS will work with you to create a personalized plan that outlines the supports you require. 

Yes, you can choose to self-manage your NDIS funds, have a plan manager, or have the NDIS manage your funds for you. Each option has different levels of responsibility and flexibility. 

A NDIS plan includes details about your goals, the support and services you need, and the funding you will receive to achieve your goals. It is reviewed regularly to ensure it continues to meet your needs.
